During Flood relief activities , dripping sweat. We challange PPP Leader Asif Zardari and PMLn Leader Nawaz Shareef to replicate the same behaviour.
Imran khan is not mere words, big talk or political bragging ,he says what he means and he means what he says.
This picture should be an eye opener for those who equate IK with any other leader of Pakistan.

PTI to win around 30 seats mostly from KPK
slamabad: A special cell, set up by the government, has been given the major assignment of widening the wedge between Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan, The News International, Pakistan’s leading newspaper quoted a former spymaster as saying on Tuesday.
This ex-spymaster told the newspaper said the purpose of this exercise is to split the opposition votes for the benefit of the ruling PPP in the next general elections despite extremely pathetic performance of the present regime.
Quoting source the paper said that some so-called journalists, a condemned and dismissed government servant, one close confidante of General Musharraf and a few others are working in the cell that would continue its work till the next general elections.
“ mostly choice media men including some anchorpersons have been persuaded to write such pieces or do such TV shows that should add fuel to the already bad relations between the two,” the paper said.
With the present division and by furthering the bad blood between Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan, the former spymaster said that PPP’s top leadership is confident to return to power for the next five years.
The former intelligence chief said that the PPP’s strategy is working perfectly so far and if the situation remains unchanged and Nawaz and Imran continue to remain at each others throat, no one could deny the PPP regime another term.
The former officer told The News that the PML-N and the PTI go into elections in the same mood and with the same hatred against each other, the PML-N is expected to lose seats in the National Assembly, from the present around 100 to around 70.
He said Imran’s PTI would win around 30 seats, mostly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is also said that the same special cell would be allocated billions of rupees for election days and this money would mainly be spent on the media and media persons.

Next General Election in Pakistan and PTI Party Position
Next general elections in Pakistan are scheduled to take place in 2013 if current government completes its tenure and all political parties are already very active on ground in preparation for the elections. With a high rise in unemployment and inflation, with poor law and order situation and all sorts of internal and external problems; PPP led coalition government is having a very low graph in public and public sentiments have gone too much against the government making it favorable for other parties.
PTI Party Position:
Imran Khan's led Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf has emerged as a great political force and a viable third force in the political atmosphere of the country. PTI continues to show huge public support and street power in its massive rallies in different parts of the country. PTI tsunami got a momentum after its historic jalsa in Lahore on October 30, followed by another historic rally in Karachi on 25th December. Both rallies were attended by hundreds of thousands people and these rallies totally changed the political landscape of the country. After these two rallies, a large number of political heavyweights joined PTI including Javed Hashmi, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Azam Swati, Khursheed Kasuri, Sadar Asif Ahmad Ali, Khan Muhammad Hoti, Jehangir Tareen, Iftikhar Gilani, Masood Sharif Khattak, Awais Laghari, Jamal Laghari, Zafar Iqbal Waraich, Inam Ullah Khan Niazi, Ishaq Khakwani, Dr Azhar Jadoon, Sardar Idrees, Sardar Yaqoob, Usman Abbasi and dozens of other notable political stalwarts.
Journey of political activities of PTI continues with a growing momentum and PTI managed to hold massive rallies in various other parts of the country including Mardan, Haripur, Abbottabad, Mianwali, Sialkot, Bhakkar, Chicha Watni and then in Quetta--the capital of Balochistan.
PTI has also managed to come forward on technical aspects with a series of policy seminars on some key national matters including energy crisis and its solutions and local government system. PTI Chairman Imran Khan has also approached renowned Atomic scientist Dr. Abdul Qadir Khan to formally request him to join hands with PTI. AQ Khan has agreed to patronize PTI. PTI has also managed to induct some great minds like Asad Umar in its partyfold who have a huge professional experience.
Looking at all the political activities of PTI and the way PTI is doing mass mobilization and a well organized membership campaign, chances of a political landslide by PTI are quite high. PTI has become most popular party of Khyber Pakhtunkhwah not only in Pashtun belt but also in Hazara division. PTI has also become very strong in Southern Punjab after joining of great political leaders like Shah Mahmood and Javed Hashmi. In northern Punjab too, PTI is gaining huge momentum and PTI is expected to have a historic rally in Rawalpindi in May which may bring a great change in North Punjab politics. However, PTI has yet to work very hard in Sindh and Balochistan to give a tough time to political giants like PPP and PML-N
PTI Rawalpindi Jalsa Preparation
PTI tsunami continues in all parts of the country and now, PTI is going to show its power in Liaqat Bagh Rawalpindi on 27 May 2012. Preparation for PTI Rawalpindi rally has already started and mass mobilization of public is being made by local PTI leaders. This rally has a huge significance on politics of Rawalpindi and according to political analysts, this rally will have a great contribution in defining future political trends of Rawalpindi division and surrounding areas. Histrorical ground of Liaqat Bagh is a huge place for PTI and looking at the public response to PTI rallies in other parts of the country like Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Abbottabad, Sialkot, Mianwali and Ghotki, it doesn't look like a tough game for PTI to gather a huge public in this ground.
PTI is active in Rawalpindi, Murree, Taxila and other surrounding areas under the leadership of an energetic young man Sadaqat Ali Abbasi who leads PTI North Punjab. Sadaqat Ali Abbasi who basically hails from Murree is one of the oldest PTI leaders who are with Imran Khan from the very begining. He has done a great work in past in strengthening PTI at grass root level in all parts of North Punjab. Now, after joining of some notable political personalities of Rawalpindi; including ex-Federal Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan from Taxila, Raja Rashid Hafeez, Rahat Masood Qudoosi, Fiaz Ul Hasan Chohan, Ijaz Khan Jazi etc, PTI is in a good tempo in district Rawalpindi. Campaign has already been started by PTI Rawalpindi leadership to persuade people to attend the jalsa and a very positive response has been observed in general public. Student Wing of PTI (ISF) and women wing is also very active in this regard. PTI Social media team has also started its active work for PTI Rawalpindi Rally.
Some analysts are predicting that Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad who is leader of Awami Muslim League may also announce to join PTI or may announce merger of his party with PTI in this Liaqat Bagh Jalsa, however yet no confirm reports about this has reached to us.
According to central spokesperson of Imran Khan--Zahid Hussain Kazmi, PTI rally in Rawalpindi will mark a new histroy.

Imran Khan’s financial credibility? – by Ahmed Iqbalabadi
Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf keeps roaring on the money of political leaders abroad and how that is affecting our country’s development. Imran Khan is known to be a person of means, and this I am quite certain that he has certain obligations abroad, like an ex-wife and sons living with his ex-wife. Does he send the kids any money or he doesn’t? If he does, he either does it from Pakistan, through remittance or has accounts abroad. If he doesn’t, that would speak volumes about the man who preaches morality, ghairat and honor. These are his personal matters and should not be discussed that much, however, something more public is his accomplished project of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust.
Before I begin, I want to highlight, why I am writing piece. Imran Khan after his Party’s CEC meeting, while briefing the press:
“He lamented the ruling elite had their accounts abroad and were taking away billions of dollars, as these were never spent for the welfare of the masses.”
I have just downloaded the 2009 financial statements of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust audited by AF Ferguson & Co. The 2010 statements are not yet available.
Some points I have noted, include:
During 2009, the cash donations and zakat received by the Trust was Rs. 1.485 billion compared to Rs. 1.106 billion in 2008. The statements do not show the sources of the donations i.e. geography. We don’t know how much was raised in Pakistan and how much abroad. We can assume that if not majority, a significant amount is raised in Pakistan.
Imran Khan talks against money being kept abroad. In notes to accounts number 11, I can see an amount at cost of US $5.5mn invested in form of capital protected notes in foreign funds. With interest rates down globally I am sure these notes are not yielding much.
As much as $3mn is invested in a Virgin Islands based SPV called Cinnabar International Services that is doing a real estate project in Oman. The Omani market is as much affected like the rest of GCC. Based on investment analysis some Omani companies are down 35pc on the valuation. One also must ask why is the portfolio restricted to Oman? Isn’t this against the concept that Imran Khan keeps talking about. Instead of investing his portfolio in Pakistan where his own project that is operational he is investing abroad? By the way, the project in Oman is run by a company whose CEO is a member of Board of Governors of SKMT named Imtiaz H. Hyderi. Isn’t that a conflict of interest?
As much as Rs. 99 mn in Bank of Punjab as fixed deposit and NIB Bank Rs. 18 million. The return expected is not known. These two are not the top tier banks of Pakistan. It is also a matter of surprise that Bank of Punjab is considered to be in trouble in light of their performance and the scandals. Why does the Trust consider these two banks only for their fixed deposits?
There is another $4mn invested with Credit Agricole funds in Guernsey without explanation as to where the money is being invested in.
Is this the level transparency you would like to have with an organization whose head and a prominent public figure preaches morality? Is this morality that on one hand you lambast the political leadership that they have their money abroad, but on the other hand, you yourselves are investing money raised from general public in risky avenues? What would happen if the investments of nearly US$ 12.5 million were to go bust? That is almost Rs. 1.062 billion! Please think about it.
The public trusts Imran Khan; the problem is that he trusts the Taliban and defends them in public by denying their crimes against humanity.
Given the huge capital inflows into his various projects, can we trust Imran Khan to not donate money to terrorist organizations like the Taliban and their local affiliates, many of whom like Sipah Sahaba and Jamaat Dawa gave him support for his recent “dharna”?
Does the ISI view Imran Khan’s Trusts as a conduit to funnel money to Jihadis? These are all pertinent questions that come to mind when evaluating and auditing Imran Khan. Imran Khan recently won the Jinnah society award for his flood relief efforts. These efforts were not altruistic and were focused on gaining political mileage at the cost of actual flood relief efforts.
When President Zardari travelled to the UK which was the largest donor to Pakistan’s flood relief efforts, Imran Khan’s PTI combined with Hizb ul Tahrir to launch protests that called for Sharia. Given that there are inconsistencies in his own flood relief efforts, would it not be fair to ask for a detailed audit of all the funds that Imran Khan collected from Western democracies like UK, Canada and the US; an indication of his utter hypocrisy given his visceral hatred of Western thought!
We are all troubled at Imran Khan’s extremist views, his defence for the Taliban and his character attack on Pakistan’s noted scientist, intellectual and peace activist, Dr. Pervaiz Hoodbhoy. Imran proceeded to follow this with actual threats of physical violence against the good professor.
As far as Mr. Imran Khan is concerned, we request him again to bring his house in order before pointing generally towards others. SKMT is without doubt a proud project which belongs not to Imran Khan or other trustees but also to each and every person who gets treated there or ever donated to it. People will challenge what I have said, just to reiterate, I donated for the first time for SKMT way back in 1990, when for me Imran Khan epitomised a “hero”!!!!
Why Should I Vote for PTI--Imran Khan?
Imran Khan's PTI is gradually becoming more and more popular among masses in parts of the country especially in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwah and not only common people but also notables are joining PTI. PTI's dharna's (sit-in) against drone attacks and then his Jalsas and rallies as "Hakomat Hatao, Mulk Bachao" were heavily participated by the public. Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf considers it as the third option in the country and claim to be a symbol of change to bring a peaceful revolution in the country. People often ask a question that why should we vote for Imran Khan? Why we should Join PTI? How PTI is different from other parties? Here are the answers from a PTI worker for all these questions:
PTI is the only untested party in the current political sitemap of Pakistan and Imran Khan is the only political leader who has no allegations of corruption and even his opponents accept his credibility and his great philanthropist work. Imran Khan is the leader who has served this nation even before coming into power and instead of hollow slogans, Imran Khan gave the gift of Shokat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and NAMAL College to this nation. Another big reason that you should vote for PTI in coming election is the evidence from Wikileaks that Imran Khan is the only politician of Pakistan who speaks eye to eye with America and hasn't shown a dual face. One of the biggest motivation for people of Pakistan to vote for Imran Khan is his principle and consistent stand on War on Terror. What Imran Khan said about 10 years back is now accepted internationally and even the superpower power America is of the view that talks are the only way to deal with Taliban and militants. This was exactly what Imran Khan kept on saying for more than 10 years. Another big reason to vote for Imran Khan is his commitment to root out corruption and bring a just system where all people get their rights and where powerful elite has to pay taxes and this tax money has to be used for betterment of the masses. Imran Khan has categorically said that he will NAB all those political mafias who haven't declared their assets and whose assets are out of the country. If he manages to deal with the corruption, half of the problems of the country can be solved by this only.
Now the question that why should I Join PTI should be easy to understand by you given you have read all above. This is duty of every patriotic Pakistani to support Imran Khan for his noble cause of bringing a systematic change in Pakistan, to save Pakistan from looters and corrupt hypocrite politicians and to bring Pakistan a real Pakistan as per the dreams of Jinah and Iqbal. Every Pakistani should join this noble cause and should work under the brave and honest leadership of Imran Khan so that Pakistan gets a brave leadership, makes it's policies within the country and doesn't take dictation from USA and gets rid of IMF and other international loans.
How PTI is different from other parties? First thing is that Imran Khan has declared all his assets, he earned money outside but brought it back to Pakistan and so now he is supposed to live and die with Pakistan. Secondly, PTI is not a status quo party and hasn't begged for any support from bureaucracy or military establishment and is based solely on public support. That's the biggest reason that Imran Khan denied Prime ministership offer from General Musharraf as Imran Khan wants change of system and not just a change of faces.
So based on all arguments, it's high time for people of Pakistan to wake up and join hands with Imran khan to change Pakistan's fate and to bring a new system in Pakistan where justice prevails everywhere and no one is above the law.

PTI to move SC against speaker's decision says Imran
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday warned the incumbent rulers that he and his party would stage an unprecedented march on Islamabad if the government did not comply with Supreme Court judgments and continued to try to destroy its reputation in a bid to hide its own corruption.
Addressing a mammoth rally at the historic Liaquat Bagh, the PTI leader said his party would file a petition in the Supreme Court today (Monday) against the National Assembly Speaker’s ruling regarding the conviction of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani in the contempt of court case.
The PTI chief lashed out at Prime Minister Gilani for taking a 70-member delegation with him on his recent visit to London, and for splurging a shocking Rs70 million on shopping at a time when the common man was finding it almost impossible to afford two basic meals a day for his family members: “There is no moral ground for Gilani to hold the office any more. The PTI is going to file a petition in supreme court against his visit to Britain along with an huge delegation,” he maintained.
Hours before the PTI public meeting, the party’s Information Secretary Shafqat Mahmood held a meeting with US Embassy political officer Anu Prattipati at the Islamabad Club where the focus of talks was Pak-US relations. “No sinister plan was discussed during the meeting, which was held on the desire of the US diplomat,” Shafqat said when The News approached him on the telephone.
A day earlier, this correspondent learnt that Imran Khan had held a meeting with senior US diplomats. However, this could not be verified, and when asked about it, the PTI information secretary said he had not been aware of such a development.
It is worth mentioning that during his speech, Imran steered clear of sensitive topics such as the resumption of Nato supplies, while mainly focusing on local politics. “Neither Zardari nor Gilani will survive if [the] PTI tsunami hits Islamabad. Today small thieves are in jails while big looters and dacoits are in the corridors of power,” Imran said.
He castigated Prime Minister Gilani, who he called a “convicted prime minister,” adding that he was no more the chief executive on moral grounds after having been handed down punishment by the apex court in the contempt case.
Imran Khan termed President Zardari the biggest ailment of Pakistan, and said his time was up.
Imran also cautioned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif to be mindful of his party’s tsunami, claiming that the PML-N leader had deposited a mere Rs5,000 in taxes three years back. He ridiculed the PML-N spokesman’s contention that this little amount was paid because Nawaz Sharif had been abroad at that time. “Were his sugar mills also abroad?” Imran asked.
Imran declared that his party would not let the armed forces be weakened at any cost, and acknowledged their sacrifices for the country at numerous crossroads. The PTI chairman further promised that both the military and democracy would be strengthened in Pakistan.
“Pakistan’s armed forces, we will protect you as you are facing attacks from not only outside but also from the Mir Jaffars and Sadiqs of Pakistan,” the PTI chief said, making a reference to two notorious characters from the era of Tipu Sultan.
Referring to the golden era of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh), Imran Khan said the PTI would establish a justice-based system, and quoted a famous saying of Hazrat Ali, reminding the gathering that a system based on Kufr could survive but one based on injustice could not.
In his address, Imran vowed to transform Pakistan into a welfare state wherein the poor and rich would be treated equally and the corrupt would not be spared. He added that the Holy Prophet (pbuh) had established the supremacy of law while setting up the first ever welfare state in Madina. He termed overseas Pakistanis as the most precious asset of the country, saying they would invest back home and send money provided that justice was ensured to them. He explained that foreign investment was directly linked to good governance, a concept missing in Pakistan.
The PTI leader also pledged to tax the rich and provide relief to the poor, and in this context observed, “Today the rulers are leading a lavish life and resorting to massive corruption at the cost of the common man. [The] nation is being made to pay for the felonies of the incompetent and corrupt rulers. We will not make the poor cough up for the tax collection,” he vowed.
Imran Khan also maintained that the price hike was due to the gross incompetence of the rulers, and lamented the massive losses being incurred by PIA, Pakistan Steel Mills, Pakistan Railways and other government entities. “[The] days of injustice have ended now. The tsunami of PTI is going to build a new Pakistan,” Imran Khan affirmed.
He also predicted that the PTI would sweep the forthcoming general polls. Before concluding, Imran Khan announced that the PTI tsunami would next move to Hyderabad on June 22, promising to free the people of Sindh from the “Wadera” culture.
More than 1,000 vehicles loaded with scores of party workers attended the rally at Liaqat Bagh Rawalpindi, carrying banners, placards and flags, and chanting slogans in favour of Imran Khan as well as the popular “Go Zardari Go” and “Go Gilani Go”.
President PTI Javed Hashmi, meanwhile, challenged PML-N stalwart and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, to contest elections against him from Rawalpindi to check his popularity among the people of Potohar.
Reminding him about his victory over Sheikh Rashid in the 2008 general elections by more than 60,000 votes, Javed Hashmi predicted the same fate for Chaudhry Nisar Ali if the latter chose to contest the election against him from the PML-N platform: “I am a more seasoned and experienced politician than any other leader in the PML-N, including Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif,” he claimed.
Speaking on the occasion, PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, “It seems that Pakistan is all out for today’s jalsa. Are you ready to sweep away Zardari, Gilani? Pakistan’s deprived community is looking towards Liaqat Bagh today. Listen! Zardari, You went to Chicago and returned empty- handed.” He added that the days of the present rulers were numbered and that after coming to power, the PTI would compensate the masses of the country.
PTI attempted to scandalise NA speaker’s ruling: Taj
KARACHI - Pakistan Peoples’ Party Sindh General Secretary Taj Haider has called the petition filed by Pakistan Tehrik Insaf (PTI) against ruling of Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza a cheap attempt to scandalize the issue and trying to mislead and politicize the Supreme Court.
In a statement to press, Taj Haider said PTI had built its case on the false and malicious statement contained in Para IV (g) of their petition that Dr. Fehmida Mirza was “not directly elected and came to the House on special quota”.
“The facts are that Dr. Fehmida Mirza had won the general elections on NA-225 Badin II by securing 88,983 votes and had defeated her closest opponents Bibi Yasmeen Shah by an overwhelming margin of 64,495 votes. Her earlier tenures as a member of the National Assembly were also from this general seat and not on any special quota,” he added.
“This huge victory was in spite of the heavy rigging against her and her husband Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, contesting on provincial assembly seat PS-57-III Badin, he said, adding that it so happened that Bibi Yasmeen Shah’s husband Papoo Shah was opposing Dr Zulfikar Mirza on PS-57-III, and a petition was given to the Election Commission stating that according to the papers and certificates submitted by Papoo Shah to the ECP, he had passed his B.B.A examination two years before passing his matriculation examination. The level of injustice and rigging can be imagined by the fact that the ECP chose to ignore this glaring fact contained in their own records and allowed Papoo Shah to contest,” he said.
Taj Haider said that while the PTI leadership is legendary for its ignorance of well known facts, learned Hamid Khan a senior advocate of Supreme Court is not expected not to know this fact about the speaker or not to check this fact while submitting a petition before the apex court. “The only motive behind his “ignorance” is to defame the speaker, confuse the public mind and to drag judiciary in politics. PTI follows the political philosophy of trying to come in power on the shoulders of the establishment. Unfortunately, for them the time for this brand of politics is long over,” Haider maintained.

Mazari owns up to rift in PTI's top leadership
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Vice President Dr Shireen Mazari on Monday admitted that differences were emerging between party’s top leadership and said that while there was “debate and dissension” within the party, it would lead to a consensus being evolved.
“Given the highly democratic nature of the PTI, there was a “debate and dissension” within the party meetings through which a consensus would be evolved. All the new people who have joined the PTI have accepted the party’s ideology. PTI respects all its members equally and no one is vilified or insulted,” said Mazari while addressing a press conference here at the PTI central secretariat, flanked by Azhar Tariq, Secretary Finance of the PTI.
Responding to a question about former PML-Q leaders Marvi Memonand Amir Muqam refusing to join PTI, Mazari made it clear that both politicians had been rejected by her party, instead.
She also admitted to PTI chairman Imran Khan signing Memon’s appointment letter as secretary information, adding that it was however not ratified by the party.
“We have a strong democratic tradition in the party and the Chairman respected the party’s decision – this is how democracy works,” she asserted.
Mazari also contradicted the notion of PTI’s dwindling popularity amongst the masses, claiming that the PTI tsunami was deliberately being controlled so as to allow the party to absorb the large influx of people who wanted to join the party.
She claimed that PTI’s tsunami was heading towards southern Punjab and many heavyweights were expected to join the party over the next few days.
“The first wave of the tsunami in southern Punjab would be commencing from Tuesday, beginning with a public meeting in Bahawalnagar and then Imran Khan would address public meetings in Hasilpur, Ahmadpur East, Muzaffargarh and Khanewal,” said Mazari.
Providing further details of PTI’s campaign in southern Punjab, Mazari said that Imran Khan wanted to reach out to the people of southern Punjab with his message of change and justice – especially for the youth of the area. And that public meetings would also be held in Sialkot, Mianwali and Abbotabad.
Khan would make another tour of South Punjab later and public meetings would be held in DG Khan and Rajanpur.
Talking about the postponed public gathering in Quetta, Mazari said, “On April 20, a huge public meeting would be held in Quetta and the media would also be informed of the party’s scheduled pogram.”

PTI Central Information Secretary Strongly Condemns attack on PTI Youth Wing Office in Faisalabad
Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Central Information Secretary Shafqat Mahmood has strongly condemned the barbaric attack on PTI Youth Wing’s Office at Jhang road, Lakar Mandi in Faisalabad. He said that a protest organized and sponsored by PML-N was purposely directed to launch a violent attack on the office of the youth wing of the party. He said that the PML-N has resorted to blatant use of violence in face of PTI’s unprecedented rise in popularity. He termed it an orchestrated incident of vandalism by the ruling party of Punjab.
Furthermore he said that this was not the first time that the PML-N has resorted to violence against the PTI and another such incident occurred earlier this month in Vehari. According to details, a charged mob which was protesting against load shedding was directed to attack PTI Youth Wing’s office. PTI Youth Wing District and City Faisalabad Presidents; Zeeshan Babar and Atif Chaudhry along with other workers of the party were subjected to torture by the criminal elements of the PML-N. The mob decimated PTI Youth Wing’s office and law enforcement agencies failed to take prompt action.
He said that if the Punjab Administration would have taken action against criminal elements involved in previous violent attacks on PTI workers and offices, this incident could have been avoided. PML-N is directly responsible for such incidents as the Chief Minister is openly supporting violent protests against load shedding which are actually aimed at attacking political opponents.
Shafqat Mahmood has demanded that the Punjab Police should act immediately on the request submitted by PTI office bearers at Jhang Bazaar police station. He warned the PML-N that if it does not stop violent attacks on the PTI it will have to face the wrath of the people of Pakistan.

Budget without yearly indicators is meaningless: Asad Umar reacts on national budget
June 01, 2012 - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf response to the Federal Budget 2012-13 Islamabad: PTI Spokesperson has termed the annual budget exercise meaningless on the basis of the performance statistics released by the Government yesterday. The government has presented a budget each year and then proceeded to completely ignore it and end the year with no semblance to the original budget presented. Starting the year with a budget that set a target of 4.7% of GDP as the fiscal deficit, by its own admission will end the year with a budget deficit of almost 7% (including circular debt) and which in reality will probably end up close to 8%. This massive deficit is not only devouring almost all available bank debt but is also resulting in heavy monetization of the deficit through recourse to huge borrowing from the state bank of Pakistan.
These actions are directly leading to the misery of the citizens and businesses of the country. The heavy fiscal deficits and their monetization on the one hand are stoking inflation making life difficult for the citizens of the country, particularly the poor and vulnerable. On the other hand by crowding out the private sector borrowing and with the increasing energy crises starving industry and business of gas and electricity , investment has collapsed to its lowest level in the last fifty years of the country. This means that the economic growth seen by the country in the last four years , which is the lowest in the last fifty years for any four year period, is set to continue at an anemic level for the next few years unless fundamental reform decisions are taken.
The budget presented by the government does not address any of the fundamental structural problems being faced by the country. There is nothing substantive in it which deals with the high rate of inflation, the increasing unemployment, the low savings and investment rates , the inadequate and unfair revenue base , the massive losses in the public sector enterprises , the huge unproductive expenditure of the government, the low investment in the welfare of the citizens of the country or making Pakistan more competitive globally to spur exports.
It is also like the previous years a budget which is dead on arrival and grossly wrong in estimating the fiscal deficit. For example the 250 billion rupees, and growing , of over due payables to the IPP’s are not accounted for anywhere in the budget . We are likely to end next year with another deficit exceeding 8% of the GDP and the economy sunk further in a debt trap. The budget reflects the same lack of vision and political will that has characterized the last four years and which in this period has left Pakistan behind almost all other developing economies in the pursuit of development and welfare of its citizens.
